Do i have to wear braces?
Now that braces are no longer the only option to achieve straight teeth, more and more adults are choosing to improve their smile and protect the health and longevity of their teeth.
While some teens and adults are enthusiastic to finally have braces, many more would prefer a less visible and more comfortable experience. Thanks to incredible research and design developments in 3D computer imaging technology, there has never been a better time to choose clear aligner therapy to achieve your best results in orthodontics.
How does invisalign work?
Clear aligners are comfortable, safe, and effective when properly designed by your orthodontist. At Carson City Orthodontics, our doctors personally design your clear aligner plan for your unique needs and custom results.
To achieve precise tooth movement, clear attachments will be bonded to certain teeth to work with the aligners. You may be instructed on how to wear rubber bands for certain bite corrections (we will show you how).
You wear each set of aligners for one week, removing them only to eat or clean teeth. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move little by little until they have straightened to their finished beautiful and healthy position.
How long does it take?
Our smile doctors will be able to estimate the amount of treatment time needed to achieve your custom results after reviewing your records and individual concerns at your initial consultation.
Treatment time depends on the goals of treatment and usually ranges between 12 and 18 months but may be even less or significantly longer in special circumstances.
Invisalign appointments are typically scheduled about 12 weeks apart, while most braces appointments will need to be scheduled about 6 weeks apart. Fewer appointments and greater scheduling flexibility is another reason patients will choose Invisalign treatment in our office.
Does Invisalign cost more?
Our treatment fee is almost always the same for either Invisalign or braces. There are times when Invisalign treatment can so clearly achieve the best result faster than braces, in which case the treatment fee may be less for the clear aligner option. Our treatment fees are all-inclusive (initial retainers are included as well as all appointments necessary to achieve the desired results).
